Club Doncaster and official partner, Signum Facilities Management have worked together to help a little boy in Doncaster who has been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive Neuroblastoma.
Oliver, aged just four, and his family were invited down to the stadium to meet Rovers boss Darren Moore and Director of Signum FM, Jill Wood, who presented them with a signed home shirt, hospitality passes, stand tickets, rugby league season tickets and a Belles mascot package.
The items were all inventory from Signum’s official partnership with Club Doncaster will be raffled off in order to raise vital funds to help Oliver travel to America for treatment.
Jill commented: “When we heard about Oliver’s story, we just had to help. We get some great benefits as a Club Doncaster partner and we wanted to donate the majority of it to Oliver and his family to help them raise as much money as possible.
“It’s fantastic that Darren Moore and the whole club are being so supportive of his efforts to get to America, and I’m sure that the fans will get behind him too.
“We’re wishing all the luck in the world to little Oliver and his family.”
Oliver’s mum, Laura added: “This is an absolutely amazing, generous offer and we are so grateful for the support of Club Doncaster and Signum. It’s even better be able to spread the word to help us raise the vital funds that Oliver needs!
Oliver is currently well in himself and the chemo is working well which has been seen by tests, which showed that his tumour had shrunk by more than half! The treatment that he needs is called the Bivalent vaccine which is currently on clinical trial in America - this treatment is to prevent the return of Neuroblastoma which is aggressive and has an extremely high recurrence rate. The treatment is expected to cost in the region of £230,000 and includes the travel costs and living costs, so we are doing everything we can to raise funds.”
