Darren Moore wants Rovers to build on a good performance against Wycombe Wanderers when his side travel to MK Dons on Saturday.
The Dons have earned nine of their 10 wins at home this season making Stadium MK a tough place to visit.
“They’re particularly effective at home – so it’s another hurdle for us,” Moore said.
“Their home record is very, very good, but we feel within out camp that we’ve got players that can expose and hurt them but we’ll have to be good to get those players into positions so that they can have maximum impact.
“They’ve starting to make headway in the division so it will be a difficult game for us.”
Moore believes Russell Martin’s side have turned a corner in recent weeks and expects to face a well-drilled, effective side.
“Saturday’s game should be a really good one. Both clubs have come a long way this season,” he added.
“Russell is stamping his authority on the team. He’s fresh, bright and energetic and the players are responding to that.
“He’s got wonderful ideas and got great players that play some great stuff and they’re starting to look like a really solid, effective outfit.”
