Ian Duerden – born March 27, 1978

Ian Duerden1.pngBurnley-born Ian made only one appearance in two seasons with his home-town club and joined Rovers in October 1998 after a brief spell at Halifax Town.

Rovers were experiencing their first season in the Football Conference, and Ian’s goal scoring form gave everyone a boost. He scored 16 goals including hat-tricks in wins at Rushden and Northwich, and two as Rovers beat Farnborough Town to secure the Conference League Cup.

He followed up with another hat-trick on the opening day of 1999-2000 as Rovers beat Forest Green Rovers, but thereafter he struggled with injuries.

The following season he was transferred to fellow Conference side Kingstonian. He now works in the Fire Brigade. His record for Rovers was 22 goals in 71 senior games.
