Club Doncaster will join organisations across the world in taking part in the World Wildlife Fund’s Earth Hour initiative on Saturday.
Club Doncaster buildings will have all lights switched off for the hour, which runs from 8.30-9.30pm. None of the organisation’s social media accounts will post during that time.
Chief executive Gavin Baldwin said: “This Earth Hour is much more than a symbolic event, it is a chance for individuals, businesses, universities, teams, communities, landmarks etc all to come together as a global community reminding everyone that even in these times of worry, anxiety and isolation they are not alone.
"We had committed to take part if we could well before the COVID-19 pandemic put most of our operations on hold, but we wanted to take part as best we could. We'd encourage any staff, partners and supporters to take part if they can - perhaps switching off their main lights and reading a book or spending time with their loved ones by candlelight instead."
