Sadlier improving as a player

25 March 2020

Kieran Sadlier says he has worked hard on improving his all round game since joining Rovers in January 2019.

The winger has 12 goals to his name so far this season, and believes his work off the ball has also reached a new level under manager Darren Moore.

He said: “I set a target at the start of the season to get 15 goals in all competitions and I’m already on 12 so I’m close to reaching that.

“From the wing I’m learning different parts of my game and not just how I can create and score goals.

“I’ve developed tactical things throughout the season in terms of what positions to be in at certain times of the game.”

Four new signings in January took the pressure off Sadlier’s shoulders when it came to scoring goals, even if he did relish the responsibility of being the focal point in attack.

He added: “With the additions in January we’ve become a team who can win games in different ways and that makes us a real threat.

“I didn’t mind having the pressure on my shoulders earlier on in the season, I thrived on having that expectation to provide the goals.

“One thing for me to concentrate on was my consistency, and I feel that is coming along well with the more games I play.”
