Adriano Rigoglioso born May 28, 1979 (NB: In the club’s 140 year history, Rovers have no former player born on May 27).
Adriano started his football career as a goalkeeper, playing in Liverpool’s Youth Teams alongside Steven Gerrard and Michael Owen. After leaving Liverpool he became an attacking midfielder and came to notice playing for Morecambe in the Football Conference.
Rovers pursued him for some time before signing him in November 2003, soon after their promotion back into the Football League. He struggled to make much impact at Rovers, making only 33 appearances and scoring once. He did not play for Rovers at all in 2005-06 and after loan spells at Southport and Morecambe he re-joined his former club in July 2006.
