Jamie Hewitt born May 17, 1968.

A legend at Chesterfield, where he made over 530 League appearances in two spells, Jamie joined Rovers before the 1992-93 season after surprisingly being released by his hometown club.

The versatile player, who could operate at full-back or in midfield, appeared in every game for Steve Beaglehole’s side before an injury at the end of January 1993 cut his season short. He returned to fitness for the start of the 1993-94 season but in October he was transferred back to Chesterfield where he was to play until 2001.

In 1996-97 he was part of the Spirites’ team that reached the FA Cup semi-finals, only losing to Middlesbrough after a replay. His record for Rovers was 41 senior appearances and one goal.
