John Stiles, born May 6 1964.
The son of World Cup winner Nobby, John joined Rovers from Leeds United in 1989 having previously played in Ireland and Canada.
He was a regular in the 1989-90 team which struggled in the league but reached the Northern Area final of the Football League Trophy before losing to Tranmere Rovers.
The classy midfielder spent three seasons with Rovers, making 105 appearances and scoring three goals. After leaving Rovers he played for Gainsborough Trinity before taking up his present job as an after-dinner speaker and compere.
