Amos striving for more

2 November 2020

Danny Amos feels his patience has paid off after making his first league start of the league campaign.

The left-back played 90 minutes against Lincoln City last time out, and is hoping to carry that on against AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday night.

He said: “I knew that games would come thick and fast so I’ve had to make sure I was ready whenever called upon.

“Luckily I’ve been away with Northern Ireland a couple of times so I’ve managed to keep my match sharpness up.

“With the squad we’ve got I’ve been on the bench a few times and then came off the bench at Plymouth so felt I was getting closer.”

Tuesday’s game will be the first at the new Plough Lane stadium, and Amos says the Dons will want to get off to a good start.

He added: “The gaffer’s message this morning was to expect them to throw a lot at us with it being their first game at the new stadium.

“We know we need to stick to the game plan, try and get the three points and then get back on the road.”
