James Coppinger was pleased to come on and make an impact in the 2-2 draw with AFC Wimbledon in Sky Bet League One.
The midfielder struck late to earn Rovers a point at Plough Lane, and says he was keen to make a difference as a second-half substitute.
“It’s the best feeling ever scoring a goal, I had a feeling I was going to get one tonight. I felt like I could make an impact.
“I set one back for Ben when I could have hit it and that was on my mind, I knew as soon as I hit the second one it was looping over the keeper.
“Credit to the lads because we could have quite easily crumbled on the back of a few long trips recently, but we’ve put so much work in to keep going to the end.”
After taking his opportunity on Tuesday night, Coppinger is keen to contribute as much as he can throughout the campaign.
He added: “I want to play every minute of every game and that’s why I’m still in football, I genuinely believe I can do that.
“When I do get my opportunity it’s up to me to take it, when I came on the manager wanted me to control the possession and I felt I did that.
“I want to play a big part in this team this season, and I have to adapt to what that role looks like for the manager.”
