Foundation launch lockdown initiatives

Club Doncaster Foundation have launched a number of initiatives to help provide keep fit activities for people during lockdown.

The physical and mental impact of an England-wide lockdown can be huge for some people and the Foundation are working hard to find ways to keep people connected via virtual fitness sessions and group online activities.

All the activities come under the Foundation’s fantastic Home Goals programme which was launched in March and provides a safe space for people to communicate, share healthy recipes and take place in virtual group fitness sessions.

Lockdown Log

Fans are invited to use the log to keep track of what you have done during lockdown.

Try to aim for 30 minutes of physical activity per day. You can log things such as steps, calories burnt, workouts completed, and miles cycled/walked/ran. The Foundation will be posting 2-3 workouts on their pages per week as well as the catalogue of workouts that are already available on the YouTube page.

Tour de Lockdown

This challenge is on now and will end on December 2. Simply track your miles on your rides and send a screen shot to Fitrovers@clubdoncasterfoundation.co.uk.

Your millage will be added to a grand total which will be announced at the end of lockdown. The Foundation will have category leaders for males and females and also age categories with lots of prizes up for grabs. 

 

Run Club

The Foundation’s weekend run/walk/jog 5k club will continue to take place during lockdown.  To get involved you simply plan a 5k route, use a GPS tracker to track distance and time then send your screen shot to fitrovers@clubdoncasterfoundation.co.uk.

Results will be posted on the Home Goals Facebook page

 

As well as these three challenges, the Foundation will also be releasing pre-recorded workouts every week, will have two live workouts per week on Zoom (Wednesday ladies’ workout and Thursday men’s workout), and will provide cooking and relaxation videos.
