Jason Lokilo says the game against Wolves U21s in the Papa John’s Trophy was a good test of Rovers’ ability.
Rovers were beaten 2-1 at the Keepmoat Stadium, and Lokilo says they tried to stamp their authority on a high calibre of opposition.
He said: “It was a difficult game for us, we were up against some really talented players and they made it tough.
“In the first-half we did well to stay in the game, our defensive shape was good and we created some opportunities.
“The second-half our levels dropped a little bit, that’s probably why they got the chance late on to win it.”
After picking up a hamstring injury earlier on in the campaign, the winger says he’s worked hard to get back to full fitness.
He added: “It’s been a little bit frustrating for me because I got an injury having just made my first league start for the club.
“When you get injured it’s always a bit harder to come back at the same level, but I’ve tried to work hard to get back in the team.
“I try to help the team as much as I can even when I’m not playing, I listen to the coaches and take my chance when it comes.”
