Okenabirhie relishing more game-time

6 November 2020

Fejiri Okenabirhie is enjoying the challenge of playing plenty of games in a short space of time for Rovers.

The No.9 has started the last seven in all competitions, and feels he is making the most of it.

He said: “I’m feeling really good, I’m playing regularly and managed to get a couple of goals under my belt as well.

“It’s tough with the amount of games we have but that’s what you want as a player and I have to be ready for each one.

“We’re working on being more clinical when we’re on top, scoring first also makes a big difference for us as we’ve seen so far this season.”

Ahead of the trip to FC United of Manchester in the Emirates FA Cup first round, Okenabirhie says Rovers will work hard to avoid a cup upset.

He added: “It’s always nice to play in the FA Cup, it will be tough going up against a non-league team but all we can do is focus on ourselves.

“If we play how we know we can then hopefully that should be enough to get the job done and progress to the next round.

“They’ll be looking to enjoy the occasion and cause an upset, we have to be ready for that and deal with the threat they pose.”
