Richards: we always had belief

25 November 2020

Taylor Richards says Rovers always had the belief they could take something from the game against Blackpool.

After going in at the break 2-0 down, Richards came off the bench and helped inspire a comeback which saw Darren Moore’s side take all three points at the Keepmoat Stadium.

He said: “It was a good win for us, the coaching staff came in at half-time gave us the belief that we could still win the game from 2-0 down.

“The gaffer knows exactly what to say to get the best out of us, we knew we had to go out there and get a result for him.

“We knew we were capable of coming back we just had to get a goal to add to that, we stuck together and kept going.”

Having made a few substitute appearances following his return from injury, Richards feels he is back to full fitness now and able to contribute on a more regular basis.

He added: “The injury is behind me now and the aim for me has to be on getting my place back in the team and contributing regularly.

“The last couple of games I’ve come on and not done as well as I wanted to so I thought this one was a big opportunity.

“I tried to help the team in any way I can, I managed to get an assist but felt I did well in my defensive work as well.”
