Butler: Moore getting the best out of Rovers

22 October 2020

Andy Butler says manager Darren Moore’s meticulous approach is getting the best out of the Rovers squad this season.

Rovers have won four of their opening six league games, and Butler says that is a result of everybody knowing their role within the squad.

He said: “The togetherness is a big thing for us, the philosophy the manager and his staff have brought to the club has been outstanding.

“They demand a lot off every single player whether you’re in the starting XI or not, and that rubs off on everyone.

“They’re managing people individually as well as a squad, they give great amount of detail every day on the training ground.”

Butler has had to be patient so far with the form of Tom Anderson and Joe Wright, and says he is ready to go whenever called upon.

He added: “I’m always ready to step in when needed, I’m not knocking on the gaffer’s door because the players in front of me have been outstanding.

“They’ve both shown maturity and composure throughout their game, they’re getting better and better and really complement each other.

“It’s fierce competition all over the pitch and I’m more than ready to play whenever the manager needs me.”
