Charlie Seaman impressed on his first start for Maidstone United since joining them on loan from Rovers.
Seaman completed 90 minutes for the Stones and scored a brilliant solo goal in the 85th minute to win the tie 2-1 as they came from behind to beat Welling United on Tuesday.
Seaman has already earnt himself a reputation as a dead ball specialist with the Kent side, having taken two free kicks that narrowly missed their mark.
However, on Saturday October 10, Seaman and Maidstone could only manage a 2-2 draw from a game that they dominated. The Stones scored twice in second half stoppage time to rescue themselves a point.
Seaman once again started the match and played 82 minutes of the contest. He was bright throughout the game almost scoring again as his free kick curled just over the bar. The youngster could have had an assist in the second half if his teammate had been a little bit sharper in front of goal but overall, some great minutes under Seaman’s belt this week.
Horton had a great week with Redditch United, he played two sets of 90 minutes, firstly on Tuesday October 6 and then on the following Saturday. The results were good for The Reds as they drew 3-3 with Rushall Olympic and beat Biggleswade Town 4-1.
Horton put in two very solid performances. He is improving with every game for the Worcestershire side.
Ian Lawlor and Oldham Athletic narrowly lost 3-2 to Morecambe at Boundary Park on Saturday. Despite the loss Lawlor made some good saves to keep the Latics in it until the end.
AJ Greaves wasn’t in action this week as Gainsborough Trinity’s match was postponed.
All the Rover’s loanees will be in action soon with Seaman and Maidstone United set to play Wimborne Town and Hemel Hempstead on October 13 and Saturday October 17 respectively.
Also on Saturday October 17, Horton will travel to St Ives Town with Redditch, Greaves will be hoping to be back in action against Witton Albion, and Lawlor is set to face Bolton Wanderers with Oldham.
