Darren Moore says Josh Sims’ experience will add to the Rovers squad during his loan spell at the club.
The winger joined on deadline day from Premier League side Southampton, where he has made 20 appearances in the top-flight since making his debut in 2016.
Moore said: “I’m really pleased to have Josh on board, he is a player with good pedigree and someone who possesses wonderful skill on the ball.
“He will bring a different dynamic to our team in terms of the way he carries the ball when running at the opposition.
“We worked hard to bring Josh to the club and he is a player who has been the subject of plenty of interest.”
Having had loan spells with Reading and New York Red Bulls previously, Moore says Sims is keen to improve himself while plying his trade in Sky Bet League One.
He added: “Josh has the experience of playing in higher leagues and has got a good number of games under his belt.
“The key thing for us is that he wants to come here and improve, and hopefully he can hit the ground running in a Rovers shirt.”
