Moore wants high standards maintained

2 October 2020

Darren Moore says his side will have to reach the levels they have in previous games to earn a positive result at Wigan Athletic this weekend.

Rovers head to the DW Stadium unbeaten in Sky Bet League One so far, and Moore says there will be no drop in the standards set when heading over the Pennines.

He said: “They’re a good team with some talented players, they’ve played at a higher level and we know we will have to prepare well.

“It will demand a certain level from us and we have to keep moving forward with that, we want to continue the good start we’ve made.

“They’re going through tough times but they have players in there that know the level and have been around the block.”

Despite scoring four goals in the win against Bristol Rovers last time out, the manager is hoping his side can improve their ruthless streak further this weekend.

He added: “The result was really pleasing but we’re always looking for ways in which we can get better and add to our game.

“I still think with the amount of chances we create that we can score more goals, and that has to be the aim for us.”
