More to come from Richards

2 October 2020

Taylor Richards feels there is much more to come from Rovers’ young players after an impressive start to the season.

Rovers travel to Wigan Athletic this weekend looking to make it four unbeaten in Sky Bet League One, and Richards says they wont be easing up anytime soon.

He said: “It’s been a good start but like the gaffer says we can’t dwell on things, there is a lot more still to come from us.

“It’s a challenge for the young lads coming on loan and leaving their comfort zone, but we’re rising to that challenge and grabbing the opportunity.

“Darren has brought us here and given us the chance to showcase our talents, so we have to repay that on the pitch.”

After bagging his first professional goal in the 4-1 win against Bristol Rovers last time out, Richards believes he has settled into the Rovers setup seamlessly.

He added: “I’m really enjoying my football, everyday in training we’re all pushing each other and we want to keep getting better.

“It was very special to score my first goal, it’s something I’ve dreamt about so to get it was great for me.

“When you’re surrounded by positivity and good people it makes it easier to settle in and express yourself on the pitch.”
