Rovers nominated for Screwfix moment of the month

7 October 2020

Rovers’ decision to donate £10 from every 2020/21 home shirt sold between September 11 and Christmas towards the cancer treatment of Gemma Lee (wife of former Rovers skipper Graeme Lee) has been nominated for the Screwfix moment of the month.

Gemma’s initial prognosis was 12 months, so Graeme, Gemma and their family sought alternative trial treatments privately and a trial drug in Germany has given Gemma her first stable scan results since the diagnosis. Unfortunately, their medical bills exceed £5,000 per month.

The club, together with their technical kit partners Elite Pro Sport, have stepped in to contribute towards Gemma’s treatment.

Speaking to iFollow Rovers, Graeme said: “The support we’ve been getting has been amazing and to know the club have thought about us and offered to help us in this way it’s amazing … absolutely amazing.

“We’re just grateful, so grateful to the club the fans … everyone who has bought the shirt. I just can’t thank everyone enough.”

Screwfix are running a fan vote on twitter to decide the winner of moment of the month and you can add your support for Rovers in the poll below:

Voting closes at 7.30pm on October 7.

You can support Gemma, Graeme and their family by purchasing a Rovers shirt HERE or at the new club store based in the Frenchgate.

Should you wish to contribute Gemma’s crowdfunding page separately you can do so HERE.
