Wales international Matt Smith says he can’t wait to get going after signing a season-long loan at Rovers.
The 20-year-old believes Rovers is the perfect place for him to keep developing as he takes the next steps in his career.
He said: “I think I’ve still got everything to learn and want to learn every day. There are players here that have got so much more experience that I just want to learn from.
“I’ve looked at the squad and the experience and quality is really good. I just want to take it all in and enjoy being here.”
As well as looking forward to playing with experienced players such as James Coppinger, Smith says he is taking plenty from lining up alongside the likes of Aaron Ramsey and Gareth Bale at international level.
“One of the good things about being away with Wales is that the players that are there and the experience that they have – that only helps me improve as a player. It was a good camp but I’m delighted to be back and ready to get going.
“I’d say I’m hardworking and I try to play forward as much as I can. I just try to give 100% whenever I can.”
