Tom Anderson feels his defensive partnership with Joe Wright is continuing to improve at the heart of the Rovers’ back-line.
The pair have started 20 of Rovers’ past 21 competitive outings stretching back to last season, and Anderson says that is a result of hard work every day on the training ground.
He said: “I feel myself and Joe complement each other on the field, we’ve played together consistently for almost a year now and we’re improving as a partnership.
“As a central defender it’s about making sure you don’t try and over complicate things and doing the basics right.
“We have to believe we’re one of the best defensive partnerships in the league, that mentality is what brings out the best in us.”
Ahead of this weekend’s game against Bristol Rovers in Sky Bet League One, Anderson believes it will be a tough one at the Keepmoat Stadium.
He added: “It will be another difficult game for us, they’ve signed a few good players and we’ll have to be on the top of our game.
“We had a great result last weekend backing up the point we got on the opening day, it was a bit of a statement from us.
“We need to keep that same level of consistency in our game this weekend and look to get all three points.”
