Rovers snatched a bonus point following victory in the penalty shootout in the EFL Trophy.
A match that was goalless at full-time, Ben Whiteman, Fejiri Okenabirhie, James Coppinger and Ed Williams all coolly converted from the spot while Louis Jones saved one to round off a very accomplished performance for the 21-year-old on his Rovers senior debut.
