Darren Moore says his squad have been working on all areas of their game ahead of the Sky Bet League One opener against MK Dons this weekend.
The game is Rovers’ first in the league for more than six months, and the manager is keen to ensure there is no stone left unturned.
He said: “Every area of the team in and out of possession is so important, there is no resting on our laurels and we always have to improve.
“Every player in the squad has to know his job as an individual and as a team, and that is what we work on.
“We’ve put the foundations in place and last season was a solid one, this season is a new one and we have to build on what’s been done in the past.”
The Dons were the last team Rovers faced in the league before the season ended, but Moore says that doesn’t give them any advantage going into this one.
He added: “There is a bit of going into the unknown for the first few weeks because no team has the data to work from on squads.
“It will probably take a few weeks before we can get the information needed to fully know what to expect from teams.”
