Tyreece John-Jules praised a team performance in a win over Charlton Athletic in which his individual goal was the talking point.
The young Arsenal loanee scored a fantastic solo goal to put the icing on the cake of Rovers 3-1 victory over the Addicks at The Valley and says he hopes it will be the first of many.
“I didn’t have a lot of options on so I thought I had to do something to create a bit of space and get a shot off,” he said.
“I hadn’t really had a shot all game so I thought I’ve got to try and work something here so I tried it and I’m happy it came off.
“It’ll be the first of many hopefully.”
It was an impressive win for Darren Moore’s side against a team who had been plying their trade in the Championship a few months ago and John-Jules praised the team's defensive efforts.
“Charlton started quick and we had to soak up all the pressure but when Madger got the goal it relieved a bit of pressure but I thought we defended well as a team,” he added.
“I thought from the start, as a team, we stuck to the game plan and I thought we played very good football today – we learned from last week and we got a result
“Everyone’s buzzing but we’ve got to focus on the next game now."
