The Doncaster Rovers Training Centre has recently relaunched to great success with some sessions already full and waiting lists fast filling up.
The Training Centre has been created to bridge the gap between grassroots and academy football at Rovers, providing young footballers within the region the opportunity to receive first class coaching from some of the best coaches around.
Andy Beaglehole, director of coaching at the Doncaster Rovers Training Centre, said: “We want players to come here, develop their game and to be the best they can be”.
The centre also provides a clear pathway for youngsters to the Rovers Academy and matches the curriculum set out by senior Academy staff.
This means that all youngsters who attend the Training Centre will follow the exact same coaching principles and timetables as the Academy with the view to giving players the very best chance of succeeding should their chance in the academy come.
Darren Moore, Rovers’ first team manager, said: “By following the same programme as our Academy players and the quality of coaching they’ll receive, players in the Training Centre will be able to realise their full potential, whether that is through better performance at their grassroots club or by progressing into the Academy and ultimately into the Rovers first team!”
