An opportunity has arisen for an exceptional and significantly experienced candidate to strive within a newly created dual role as the role of head of Academy education / age group coach at Doncaster Rovers Football Club.  

The successful candidate will thrive at the challenge of ensuring that our players value education in line with their elite football journey from the age of 9 right through to 18. The person will seek innovative ways to identify player’s educational needs and be the lead link within schools for the purpose of queries and educational issues.  

Alongside this role the successful candidate will also be a lead coach within one of our youth team age groups aged 9-16. This dual role will see the successful candidate deliver the technical syllabus in evening training and weekend games, and as a permanent member of staff be an excellent role model for our casual staff and players alike.  

Reporting to the Academy manager, the post’s objectives are to drive the vision of education, and support the Head of Coaching and permanent coaching members of staff to drive coaching standards. We are looking for a committed, adaptable professional to be able to successfully deliver dual priorities, and create a strong working relationship with the academy management team to enhance the information available to the management team. 

This new role will be part time permanent with persons expecting to commit around 22 hours for all areas of the post each week.  

Candidates should possess an appropriate teaching qualification either via PTLLS or QTS, and be in possession of a UEFA B qualification. Previous experience within an elite sporting environment, and awareness of the Elite Player Performance Plan is essential.
