Bostock ready to play his part

1 April 2021

John Bostock is hoping his return to full fitness can play a part in Rovers getting back to winning ways against Charlton Athletic on Good Friday.

The 29-year-old returned from injury in the game against MK Dons last weekend, and is now hoping to make more of an impact for the rest of the season.

He said: “We need to get back to putting points on the board, getting into the final third hasn’t been an issue but it’s about what you do in those areas.

“It hasn’t been going our way recently but we’re all doing everything we can to turn that around at the business end of the season.

“I picked up a little injury which was disappointing at the time it came, then I only trained once before the MK Dons game so had to get myself through it.”

As one of the most experienced players in the squad, Bostock feels he has a big part to play in keeping morale high.

He added: “I relish being given the responsibility to start games because we’ve got a great squad here and I want to help them with my experience.

“I feel like I have a role to play and I’ve enjoyed myself from the day I first came in, the time I had out of the game makes me feel even more grateful.”
