Butler: belief back in the group

20 April 2021

Andy Butler says his Rovers side head to Accrington Stanley with a spring in their step looking for another victory on the road in Sky Bet League One.

Rovers head to the Wham Stadium on the back of a win at Shrewsbury Town last time out, and Butler feels that has taken some of the pressure off his players.

He said: “The three points has lifted our spirits and you can see the weight off the players’ shoulders, it was a step forward for us.

“I wanted a reaction from them and I got it, performances lead to results so we want to keep our standards high for the rest of the season.

“It’s all about finding different ways to win, we might not control possession in every game but you have to use it well when you get it.”

Just two points separate the two teams in the table, and Butler is expecting another tough game against Stanley.

He added: “We’ve got something to build on and we want them to continue to play with freedom. Accrington are a tough team to break down but we’re looking forward to it.

“John Coleman’s teams are well known for how hard they work and they played well against us back at our place.”
