Andy Butler says Tuesday night’s opponents Burton Albion are a good example of how form can turn quickly in Sky Bet League One.
The Brewers have taken 35 points from 17 games since Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s appointment on New Year’s Day, and Butler says they have shown just what can be done when belief is maintained.
He said: “Burton have been a great example of how form can change, Jimmy has gone in there and turned the club around.
“Everybody had written them off when we went there in December but they’ve used that to their advantage and climbed the table.
“My challenge to the players here is the same, people have written us off and now we have to show that we are better than that.”
With eight games of the Sky Bet League One season to go, Butler is hopeful a result on Tuesday night will stand them in good stead.
He added: “Every game we’ve had has been tough with teams fighting for different things, we want to get the enjoyment back in our game.
“Winning becomes a habit as unfortunately does losing, one result can change the mood of the whole group.”
