Butler wants Rovers to end season strongly

22 April 2021

Andy Butler wants his players to give the best version of themselves in the five remaining games of the Sky Bet League One season.

Rovers start their final run of fixtures at home to Fleetwood Town on Saturday, and the manager believes it represents a good opportunity for his squad.

He said: “There are five games left this season and the players have an opportunity to show how much playing for the club means to them.

“Whatever motivates them, they have to go out on the pitch and show the best version of themselves.”

Fleetwood travel to the Keepmoat Stadium looking to end a run of two straight defeats, and Butler says they will provide a stern test.

He added: “Fleetwood are another team that will get in our faces, and play on the front foot. I expect them to be right up for it.

“Like any team in this division if you don’t start well against them you’ll have a mountain to climb from early in the game.

“They’re a bit of a bogey team for us recently so we want to end that, and I want a performance from the players that shows grit and determination.”
