Rovers suffered a frustrating 2-1 defeat against Accrington Stanley on Tuesday night.

Andy Butler's men were the architects of their own downfall conceding a penalty at the end of both halves to hand Dion Charles a brace from 12 yards.

After going into the break 1-0 down, Rovers had started the second period better and Jason Lokilo had a chance early in the half. Tyreece John-Jules’ introduction on the hour-mark sparked a better period for Rovers and his one-two with Fejiri Okenabirhie gave him a shooting opportunity which he took calmly. He could have given Rovers the lead minutes later when Scott Robertson drove into the heart of the Stanley defence and slid John-Jules in but Toby Savin made a great save.

As it looked like the game was going to play out to a 1-1 draw, a rash Ellery Balcombe decision cost Rovers another penalty and Charles scored to take the three points.
