Rovers fell to defeat to Wigan Athletic on a disappointing afternoon at the Keepmoat Stadium.
It was a disasterous start for the home side who found themselves behind within three minutes - a start that was compounded when within half and hour they were 3-0 down.
There was a glimmer of hope for Andy Butler's men when Taylor Richards curled a left-footed effort beyond the Latics' keeper just before half-time, but they were unable to build on than in the second half and, with ten minutes remaining, Wigan got a fourth to kill off the game.
