AJ Greaves says he’s looking forward to developing his game further after signing a new deal with Rovers.
The combative midfielder has played seven times for the club this season, and believes he’s got a lot more to offer.
He said: “It’s a place that is close to my heart having progressed through to the first-team, so to get that reward is great for me.
“I’ve had setbacks in the past but I try not to dwell on them, I’ve had to work hard to get to where I am so I need to keep that going.
“My main aim is to get as many minutes as I can, whether that is at right-back or in midfield, I’ll give everything I’ve got.”
Greaves is one of several young players given their opportunity by Andy Butler since he was appointed as manager in March, and the 20-year-old says that has made the transition much easier.
He added: “He’s put a lot of trust in the younger players despite the poor form of the team, he deserves credit for continuing to do that.
“I’ve been playing with some of the boys I’ve come through the ranks with which makes it a lot easier to settle.
“The gaffer is willing to give young players a chance and we’ve all worked hard to repay that faith.”
