Branden Horton says he’s learning a lot from his spell in the Rovers side despite a disappointing run of results for the team in Sky Bet League One.
The 20-year-old has featured seven times after making his league debut at Oxford United in March, and feels he has developed his game since then.
He said: “I know the results haven’t been the best since I’ve come in but I think I’ve learnt a lot from this period.
“I want to keep playing games and nail down a spot in the team, there’s a lot of competition but you have to have the desire to be the best.
“I played the game at Bristol Rovers at right-back which was tough but it’s all part of learning as a young player.”
After being beaten 1-0 by Fleetwood Town at the Keepmoat Stadium, Horton believes they have to keep working to end the campaign with some momentum.
He added: “The dressing room is down as it has been after some of the results recently, we’re trying everything but it’s just not happening.
“We can’t afford to be a team that just lets the season drift away, we’ve got to keep going and try to pick up some wins before the end of the season.”
