Reece James says the Rovers squad were disappointed to come away empty handed from the Good Friday game against Charlton Athletic.
Ian Maatsen’s early goal earned all three points for the visitors in what was a frustrating afternoon at the Keepmoat Stadium.
He said: “Everyone in the dressing room is really down about the result, we’ve given a sloppy goal away and not been clinical enough at the other end.
“If you look at our previous games I think that was an improvement but we didn’t really do enough to break them down.
“We were still in the game to the end but whatever we tried didn’t pay off, it’s the finer details that we have to get better at.”
After defeat against fellow top six hopefuls, James says it is important that Rovers regroup with another game just around the corner.
He added: “You never want to lose but especially against a team around you, we’ve got to reset now and do all we can to turn our form around.
“Once they got their goal they set up well to defend that, we have to be better at finding a way through.”
