Fejiri Okenabirhie is hoping to continue his partnership with Tyreece John-Jules for the remainder of the season.
The pair linked up for Rovers’ goal at Accrington in midweek, and Okenabirhie says they have a good understanding.
He said: “We’ve got a good understanding of each other and we’re both looking to score goals and help each other do that.
“It was a bad injury for him so I’m pleased he’s back involved now and we’ve picked up those combinations since he’s returned.
“We’ve not managed to play together too much with us both having injuries but when we have we’ve shown that we can be a good partnership.”
Fleetwood are the next test for Rovers at the Keepmoat Stadium this weekend, and the No.9 says they have to get back to being solid on home soil.
He added: “We go into every game trying to win and especially at home, we want to get back to winning ways and try to put in a performance.
“We know it will be difficult having seen them earlier on in the season, but it’s always about what we can do to hurt them.”
