Life-long Rovers fan Bob Minto got a huge surprise when Jon Taylor joined a Zoom call to invite him to be the matchday VIP for Saturday's game against Wigan Athletic.
Bob is a cancer survivor who – after recovering from the disease – was determined to give back to Macmillan Cancer Support as the charity had offered him much needed support during his diagnosis and treatment.
As well as bravely sharing his story – which helped the charity support people who might not have reached out for help previously – he has also helped his sister raise more than £20,000 by providing supplies for her coffee mornings.
To say thank you, Rovers teamed up with MacMillan to surprise Bob and Jon Taylor had a chat with him about all things Rovers and about Bob’s grandson.
Bob’s grandson is an avid Rovers fan and attends all home games thanks to Bob’s willingness to drive 50 miles out of his way to pick him up and take him to matches. They’ve both been missing spending Saturday afternoon’s together watching their team but have been following the action on iFollow Rovers.
