Carl Boyeson will be the referee in charge for Rovers’ league game at home to Portsmouth on Saturday.
Boyeson last took charge of Rovers in October - a 1-0 away defeat to Wigan Athletic. During that game, he handed out three yellow cards, two for Rovers and one for the hosts.
He was kept busier in his previous Portsmouth game - also in October. A 2-0 home defeat to Charlton Athletic saw three yellow cards handed out to the Addicks while Pompey received one.
Boyeson last handed out a red card in April - the recipient was Morecambe full-back Kelvin Mellor who received it against Bolton Wanderers for violent conduct.
Hailing from Kingston upon Hull, the referee has officiated more than 500 EFL games. Boyeson got to fulfil a childhood dream when he refereed the EFL Trophy final at Wembley in March 2020 - Pompey featured in the final, losing to Salford City on penalties.
On Saturday, he will be assisted by Mark Cunliffe and Joe Simpson. Stephen Wade will be the fourth official.
