Martin Coy will be the man in charge for Saturday’s South Yorkshire derby vs Rotherham United.
The man from County Durham was in charge when Rovers last faced the Millers in the league. On that occasion, Rovers secured a dramatic home win over the Millers thanks to an 88th minute penalty which was converted by Ben Whiteman.
Since that day in September 2019, Coy has overseen just one Rovers game – an away defeat to Ipswich Town.
Coy has taken charge of five matches in the current campaign including the televised Carabao Cup match between Barrow and Aston Villa which ended 6-0 to the Premier League side. Saturday will be his second League One match having overseen a 3-3 draw between Bolton Wanderers and MK Dons on the opening day of the season.
On Saturday, he will be assisted by Hristo Karaivanov and Kenwyn Hughes. The fourth official will be Richard Woodward.
