Tom Anderson took some time out of his Tuesday morning to wish super fan Joyce a happy 90th birthday and give her a virtual tour of Cantley Park.
Rovers are ramping up to Saturday’s season opener against AFC Wimbledon and the club is preparing to welcome fans back through the turnstiles for a league match for the first time since February 2020.
Among them will be Joyce. Joyce first watched Rovers when she was 17 and has been an ardent supporter ever since. Rovers runs in the family too and her great granddaughter attended her first match when Rovers faced Newcastle United in July.
As a thank you for her unwavering support and to say happy birthday, Joyce was treated to a virtual tour of the training ground shown around by the skipper.
Neighbour Helen, who helped organise the surprise, said: “Joyce was over overwhelmed and surprised that Tom took time out to show her round the training ground and wish her happy 90th birthday.
“I just want to say thank you so much from myself and her daughter Carol.”
