Gary McSheffrey spoke to the media after the 2-1 defeat at home to Oxford United in Sky Bet League One.
James Henry’s late winner left Rovers empty handed after Branden Horton’s leveller looked to have secured a point.
On getting back into the game:
“First-half we were poor, and didn’t look brave enough to try and get on the ball when the opportunity came.
“I was proud of the second-half performance, the boys rolled their sleeves up and gave it everything.
“The situation we were in being 1-0 down against a good team it would have been easy for us to go under, but we reacted well and got ourselves back in it.”
On continuing to believe:
“I spoke to the lads and they’re obviously gutted, they’ve played some high pressure football on young shoulders this season.
“We’re slowly getting some numbers back in the group and I saw enough second-half to show that with enough belief there are enough games to turn this around.”
