Sebastian Stockbridge will be the man in charge when Rovers host Mansfield Town in the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday.
It’s the first time this season that the man from the North East has taken charge of a Rovers match. He was the man in the middle when Rovers travelled to Rochdale last term. Prior to that he was referee for both Rovers home and away match against Oxford United in 2019/20.
He is very experienced, taking charge of his first match in April 2013. His first Rovers match was October 2014 – an away win for Rovers over Scunthorpe United at Glanford Park.
In the current campaign, Stockbridge has taken charge of 17 matches, handing out 58 yellow cards and one red.
On Saturday, he will be assisted by Darren Williams and Chris Isherwood. Robert Atkin will the fourth official.
