Matt Smith spoke to the media following Rovers’ 2-1 defeat to Oxford United in Sky Bet League One.
A late winner from James Henry secured the win for the U’s after Rovers had worked hard to get back level.
On an improved second-half performance:
“I felt like in the first-half we didn’t keep the ball well enough but after that we managed to put a good performance in.
“After the break we pressed higher and got in their faces more, which eventually paid off with the goal.
“We’re gutted to concede a late goal but we have to move on quickly and focus on Saturday’s game.”
On his own development:
“I was in League One last year and it’s more experience for me to get under my belt and improve.
“Despite the results I’m enjoying my football and being given the responsibility to get on the ball and make things happen.”
