Doncaster Rovers home ground has passed its regular ground assessment with flying colours.
The assessment takes place every two years and is carried out by Inspectors to help the SGSA discharge its statutory responsibilities under the Football Spectators Act 1989. It is designed to ensure the stadium is complying with relevant safety at sports ground legislation.
The inspection takes into account a number of things from safety leadership, ground overview, facilities and safety management. Rovers’ ground scored 86.7% putting it in the lower risk category across all these markers.
Jim Walton, the club’s safety officer, said: “We’re pleased with the report. It shows that we’re in a good place and that the safety procedures and structures we have are effective.
“While this report, shows us that we are going in the right direction, we are, of course, held to account by these kind of reviews with the details of our policies scrutinised. This provides us with an opportunity to make improvements and advance our practices even further.
“We are a new safety team and I am certain that we will continue to improve things at the ground for many seasons to come.”
