James Coppinger is looking forward to wearing the gold third shirt that he designed when Rovers take on Hull City in Sky Bet League One this weekend.
The kit was put together by Coppinger - with some help from his sons – and commemorates his 17 years at Rovers.
He said: “I think it was a great opportunity and a fantastic gesture from the club to get me involved with the designing of the kit.
“Growing up I used to love wearing new shirts and it’s always something as a player that you enjoy when that time comes around.
“To be able to put something together like we have is brilliant, there are lots of different parts of the shirt which make it unique.”
The game against Hull gives Rovers a chance to get back to winning ways, and Coppinger believes it is the type of game they need at present.
He added: “At this stage of the season we’ve still got a lot of games to play, people can get carried away but it’s far too early to be thinking about where we will finish.
“It’s always about the next game and that provides us with a chance to put three points on the board against Hull.
“For us it’s about getting back to basics and stamping our authority on the game, it’s about remembering our identity.”
