Halliday feeling refreshed heading to Ipswich

26 February 2021

Brad Halliday believes a full week of training leading up to the game against Ipswich Town will benefit Rovers.

After Tuesday night’s game at Blackpool was postponed, Rovers’ attention turned straight to the trip to Portman Road this weekend.

He said: “We were all disappointed getting to the ground on Tuesday and hearing the game had been called off after the preparation we’d done.

“All in all it was the right decision, but it having trained well and travelled we were desperate to get the game on.

“We’ve had a break with the game being called off so hopefully the lads can take advantage of that at the weekend.”

With 19 games of the Sky Bet League One season to go, Halliday says the squad have put themselves into a strong position as they head towards the business end.

He added: “We’ve got a really strong group now and it’s a challenge to not only get in the starting line-up but the matchday squad as well.

“Our aim has always been to keep improving and we’ve been up there for the majority of the season so far.

“We’ve put ourselves into a great position and hopefully we can kick on as the campaign goes on and the pressure rises.”
