Moore looking for home comforts

16 February 2021

Darren Moore says he’s looking forward to being back at the Keepmoat Stadium when Rovers take on Accrington Stanley on Wednesday night.

Rovers return to home soil after back-to-back away games, and the manager is hoping that will bring about a change in fortunes.

He said: “Every team in the division wants good home form and I’m pleased that ours has been right up there this season.

“We don’t take anything for granted and we know that on our own patch we have to get back to the performance levels that we’re capable of.

“I’ve always said that we just look towards putting in a performance for the next game and that is how consistency is built.”

Accrington themselves are just two points off the play-off places with games in hand, and Moore has been impressed by the work done at the club.

He added: “John Coleman is doing a fantastic job there and knows the division well, he has been really consistent over the past few years.

“They don’t get flustered when they go up against so called bigger clubs, and they continue to improve every year.

“Their recruitment has been spot on and it has been an upward curve in terms of maximising what they have at the club."
