Darren Moore says his side are looking forward to an important game against Sunderland in Sky Bet League One this weekend.

Rovers travel to the Stadium of Light on the back of a defeat at Fleetwood Town, and the manager says the players are keen to make up for that.

He said: “We’re looking forward to it, Sunderland are a huge club at this level and I’m sure they’ve got big aspirations for the second half of the season.

“We’re going to have to perform to a high level to get a result there, and that’s what we’re working towards.

“It will be a really good game of football, both teams lost in midweek so there will be a reaction on show.”

With Rovers still just one point off the automatic promotion places at present, Moore says the focus is to keep on progressing as a club.

He added: “As a football club we just want to keep that progression going and push ourselves to be as good as we can be.

“We don’t look past Saturday, because that brings its own test and that is the message I continue to send to the players.”
