Officials confirmed for Ipswich Town

25 February 2021

Martin Coy will be the man in charge when Rovers travel to Portman Road on Saturday.

The man from County Durham hasn’t taken charge of a Rovers game since September 2019 when he oversaw Rovers’ dramatic home win over Rotherham United which was decided by an 88th minute penalty.

The season before he took charge of three Rovers matches, a 2-1 home win over Bradford, an emphatic 5-0 home victory over Rochdale and a 4-1 home victory over Bristol Rovers.

Saturday will be the first time he has been in charge of a Rovers match this season but he was fourth official when Rovers defeated Oxford United at the Keepmoat Stadium earlier this month.

So far this season, Coy has refereed 21 matches handing out 49 yellow cards and four reds.

On Saturday, he will be assisted by Stephen Brown and Daniel Cook. Aaron Farmer will be the fourth official.
